Kehinde ‘Kayswitch‘ Oyebanjo is still trying to stay afloat in this dollar based economy, tongues have been wagging on how this Kay-Switch’s little talent is under-utilized by his management.
Rumors have it that D’Banj had to call an African family meeting to get his younger brother Kayswitch to join DB Records when he was leaving Mo’Hits because Kay-Switch wanted to stay with the Mo’Hits. Since it is our culture to put family before business, Kay-Switch has been bitten with every ounce of regret as his career has dropped so hard like it was searching for crude oil.
Since his departure to the joke called ‘DB Records’, Kayswitch has been finding it hard to become relevant in this highly competitive Nigerian music market. From every perspective as a business man, you don’t leave an established, disciplined and lucrative business to joining a new, fun-loving, unsettled one. When Mo’Hits split, Kayswitch was at that time sweetly warming his way up to being an A’list celeb but he chose to leave with his brother. D’Banj was big enough to be relevant for the next 2 years but you chose to be with him out of pity at your detriment.
He should have known that D’banj had the money with no business plan but Don Jazzy had more money with a team of men buzzing with innovations. Please how will a sensible man listen to Tonto Dikeh and decide she is the best person to sign to his label? D’banj is still trying to find himself ALONE as an artiste, how will he have time to mentor you? Did I choose the parent from the divorce? Did I ever think I will retire this early? Did I ever think small D’prince will own a private jet before I get my G-Wagon car? Is D’banj really serious about this label or he is just about signing light-skinned artistes? Does D’Banj even have time for this label? This budding questions should wake Kayswitch up every morning. Kayswitch obviously needs his talent mentored by a disciplined and tasking management that will bring the best of him and realizing that putting nepotism before business is very dangerous.
I also heard you were doing shows but I never see you at those shows but what I do know there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
