Ne-Yo and his wife Crystal Renay have shared the first photos of their newborn son.

Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr (who has his father’s real name) was born on March 15, and the happy couple shared how in love they are with the new arrival on Thursday.

Crystal posted a sweet picture which showed the baby resting on her chest in the hospital bed, while she beamed at the camera.

Meanwhile Ne-Yo posted a photo of himself cradling his bundle of joy in his arms, with the words ‘senior and junior’ written across it.

Welcome to the world lil’ man. (HA! Mason’s a big brother now) You got a BIG family lookin’ out for you, immediate AND extended. And we all love you to death. Crystal announced the birth by sharing a photo of Shaffer – who she has affectionately nicknamed Prince SJ – clutching her finger, and said he weighed in at 6lbs 80z and was 19 inches long.

She also revealed that she’d had an emergency C-section because of complications, but said it was still the ‘best day of my life’.

Prince Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr has arrived! 6lbs 8oz, 19 inches it was the scariest delivery ever and I ended up getting a emergency C-section cause of complications but with the help of my amazing doctor @drsherryr and my super calming husband @neyo I was able to get through it all and come out with best reward in the world… SJ!!!!! #BestDayOfMyLife
