Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook for Every Phone so you guys don’t deem it fit to create an app in your medium for Nigeria, Kenya and other African countries experiencing terrorism invasion? I wont be foolish and stupid to fly the French flag on my dp as you have requested, unfortunately like some Nigerians have rushed to obey your order to change their dp’s to the French flag.
Mark even you and this Nigerians are aware of how Boko Haram is slaughtering Nigerians everyday including children, are you guys saying when it comes to terrorism some lives are more superior than the others? Why would l fly the French flag just because l have to prove or show the world that l am in solidarity with the French people, and that l am against the recent terrorism attack in their country?
Now don’t think l am insensitive to the plights and pains of what the French people are presently going through right now, l feel their pain because it could have been me, a family member or a close friend who’s probably holidaying in France and be a victim of this unfortunate attack but l will never fly their flag just to show that l feel their pain.
Recently, l lost my former class mate in the University of Lagos, who died as a soldier fighting against BH. He was one of the most intelligent guys in my class, cool, calm and calculated. My pain is real, it depresses one everyday knowing that BH is still operating everyday turning human beings to minced meat and nothing has been done by our leaders to arrest the situation.
I still mourn my friends, soldiers and innocent souls that has been sent to an early grave because of terrorism. I will not be stupid to fly a french flag just because l feel it signifies my support for the French people. Flying the French flag on my dp is going too far and l think it is hypocritical too. I am going to wait and see which developing country you are going to create an app with their flags in the fight against terrorism, BH is still killing people in Northern Nigeria everyday, if your campaign is genuine and truly global and not for a particular set of people in a particular country, create an app for my country Nigeria, even the Kenyan attacks was deadly and bloody what did your Facebook team do?
Anyway, l don’t blame you guys, l blame my people who rushed to obey your orders without thinking or should l say some of them are still suffering from the colonial mentality, or is it mumu or follow-follow mentality has eaten them up so bad. Incase the Facebook team does not know or has forgotten the color of the Nigeria flag, it is Green White Green, that is the color of my country’s flag and not Blue White Red.
I have had heated arguments with some colleagues/friends on FB and their excuses is so lame, shallow and watery, as for me l will never fly any country’s flag on my dp except my beloved country Nigeria, no matter how bad it is l will love my country and neither will l look down on it. I feel it is an insult to your country and very unpatriotic to fly a French flag, when we are also experiencing the same terrorism in Nigeria, l am not trying to sound like a patriotic heroine here but do people really understand the meaning and the gravity of flying another country’s flag instead of theirs? I really hope Mark and his team gets to read this or if they choose they can ignore or pretend they didn’t see it.
Facebook let your global campaign against terrorism be be fair, all lives are equal and are the same before God!
