Founder and CEO of AFRIFF, Chioma Ude recently commended Genevieve Nnaji’s ‘Road to Yesterday’ and Jonas Carpignano‘s ‘Mediterranea’, which will be screened at this year’s edition of the annual Africa International Film Festival.
She said: ‘We are pleased that these two films will make the highlights of this year’s festival’.
While commending Genevieve’s self-produced movie ‘Road to Yesterday’, she remarked: Genevieve Nnaji’s Road to Yesterday is another exposition of the diverse talents in the Nigerian movie industry. It is the latest offering from Nigeria and indeed Africa that even I, can’t wait to see.’
‘Road to Yesterday’ is an epic love story that features Nigerian-British actor Oris Erhuerho, Majid Michel, Chigul, Ebele Okaro and more.
She continued: ‘Mediterranea is a sad story of capital flight. It is a peculiar story about Africa and its most vibrant workforce wasting away in the wilderness.’
‘Mediterranea’ expresses the story of two men who make a daring journey from Africa to Italy in search of greener pasture, but then face hostility and violence’.
